Back up, save, reassess the game plan. Game plan? Most people don’t have one. After years of carelessness when it comes to personal finance, I’ve become a guru in saving money. I’m good at it. I don’t see how people shop all the time. Malls give me headaches, consumerism is nauseating to me. This is an opinion I should learn to keep to myself.
At some point in my graduate school career I became so obsessed with the term “retail therapy” to mean “mania” that I just stopped. It’s my surefire way to control myself. I really relate this back to my being a Capricorn. Frugal, thrifty, penny-pinching and obsessively so. A dollar saved is a dollar earned in my pocket for a rainy day, like the ones we could see in the very near future due to an unpredictable weather event.
Who knows what’ll happen. Gustav seems to be taking a west-northwestern turn into Southwestern Louisiana now. The darn thing isn’t even a hurricane, just a measly old tropical storm.
